Farmtech is expanding its capacities

In November, Farmtech started expanding the capacities at its headquarters in the industrial zone of Ljutomer, and laid the foundation stone for a new complex in early December. “After a year of planning and overcoming many obstacles, the laying of the foundation stone is an important milestone for the expansion at the location in Ljutomer”, says Konrad Niderl, the company’s director, adding that the Komptech group – and thus Farmtech as part of the group – is investing intensively in the future at this location. The new construction, estimated at five million euros, is expected to be completed next year. “We are on the right track of development and achieving our goals. Thanks to the additional capacities, we can increase production and productivity capabilities and are thus in an ideal position to handle the larger upcoming orders”, says Niderl, who hopes to have the entire construction project completed by the end of April 2023.

Farmtech, as a sustainable company, gives great importance to sustainability in construction, especially in the selection of materials, equipment and technologies. In the long term – in addition to the already existing 3,750 square meter solar power plant – the new building will be completely covered with photovoltaics. The main contractor for the construction works is Remont d.d., which will carry out the entire project with a number of subcontractors, including companies from Pomurje region. However, this is not the only investment, as the Ljutomer facility is constantly investing in automation and robotization as well as technological upgrades. In addition to annual investments in production worth more than one million euros, two more larger machines have already been ordered for the future – namely a fourth robot for automatic welding and a modern CNC bending machine – with a total value of over 1.5 million euros. “The events we have been experiencing here in Ljutomer in recent years at Farmtech show a success story. Few could have guessed that the company would grow into such a successful organization with more than 410 employees. And we keep growing, developing and trying to be better every day”, concludes Niderl proudly and optimistically.
