Four farms, one Fortex
The first Fortex 2000 push-off trailer did not find just one owner, but four. A group of farmers from Lower Austria demonstrates how collaboration and shared use of machinery can provide access to high-end equipment that would otherwise be difficult for an individual farm to afford.
Collaboration that pays off
Four farmers pooled their resources to purchase a new push-off trailer – the first Fortex 2000 model of the new Fortex series: Josef Brandstetter, Bernhard Pfeffer, Hermann Grasel and Johannes Schindler from Zöbern in Lower Austria. As neighbours running family farms of between 25 and 40 hectares, specialising in cattle farming and milk production, they recognised the potential of a joint investment to significantly boost efficiency. By sharing machinery, they reduce investment costs while making far more efficient use of their equipment. “This kind of collaboration means the machine isn’t sitting idle for most of the year – it’s in continuous use across several farms. The result is noticeably lower costs and far better machine utilisation,” explains Brandstetter, the driving force behind the project. The joint investment also allowed them to opt for a more powerful, higher-class machine than any of them could have justified individually.
Trust in the brand and the partner
Farmtech is no stranger to these farms: most of the operations have been operating machines from the Farmtech portfolio for years and know their strengths well. Two factors were decisive in the decision to invest: a reliable machine suited to demanding conditions, and the right local partner. Expert support was provided by Joe Heissenberger from TCS Umwelttechnik GmbH, who assisted the group throughout the selection process and the commissioning of the machine. TCS Umwelttechnik GmbH is active in the processing of woody biomass as well as in special machine construction, developing wood chippers and environmental technology solutions.
Fortex 2000 in action
The Fortex 2000 will handle a wide range of transport tasks for the Lower Austrian farm community – from wood chip and silage haulage to grain logistics – and will become an integral part of their daily farm operations. The 20-tonne Model 2000 is considered the ideal size for their needs, particularly due to its stability and manoeuvrability on hilly terrain. “The Fortex is solid, the chassis is robust, the push-off system is proven, the paintwork is high quality, the look is modern – in short: the Fortex is great,” says Brandstetter. Early experience confirms that the machine meets expectations and represents a dependable solution for efficient machinery utilisation. Their next shared wish? A new manure spreader. And the colour it will be – they already know.
