Young successor Denis Štuhec relies on dependable machinery and practical solutions that save him time and effort in the field. Generations of farming

The tradition of Štuhec Farm in Spodnji Ključarovci near Ormož (Slovenia) stretches back several generations. What his grandfather started and his father carried on, Denis Štuhec now leads with fresh energy – young, driven and with a clear focus on the future. Across roughly 60 hectares of farmland, Denis does not simply preserve the family legacy; he actively develops it with modern methods and new ideas.
Alongside traditional crops and maize silage, he has introduced winter rye for cutting into the crop rotation – producing high-quality forage directly on the farm for his own livestock. The farm has also been running silage maize and grain maize variety trials in collaboration with seed company Syngenta for many years – continuously refining cultivation practices and variety selection. The farm is home to 50 dairy cows as well as beef cattle – around 120 animals in total. At Štuhec Farm, the cycle is closed on-site: what grows in the fields feeds the animals in the barn. This approach is not just efficient – it’s a mindset.

When trust makes the difference

Choosing the 12-cubic-metre Ultracis 1200 slurry tanker with the 12-metre Condor 12.0 trailing shoe system was no coincidence. Denis emphasises that the human factor plays a decisive role in major investments. Farmtech’s sales partner Martin Kramer from Alma Agro won him over with a combination of fair pricing, professional advice and reliable after-sales support. “With an investment like this, both things matter – a proven, reliable product and a service that is always close by and quick to respond,” says Denis.
Positive experience with Farmtech machines already in use on the farm made the decision even easier. Another key factor was last season’s hands-on experience, when Denis tested the Fortex push-off trailer – it impressed him so much that it is already among his next planned investments.

3,000 cubic metres – without the stress

Peak periods on Štuhec Farm involve applying around 3,000 cubic metres of slurry per year. With a storage capacity of 1,400 cubic metres, this requires fast and reliable logistics – especially during two intensive spreading periods when every day counts. Thanks to improved efficiency, Denis can now handle the same volume in less time and with fewer passes.
First impressions after the initial 300 cubic metres? Pure enthusiasm. “The tanker runs smoothly – which is essential at full load. The forced steering proves invaluable on our narrow access tracks and undulating fields, and I control all functions directly from the tractor cab. Operation is safe, clear and above all intuitive,” Denis explains. “When everything runs smoothly without complications, that’s what really matters,” he adds.

Slurry where it delivers real value

The greatest technological leap forward is the Condor trailing shoe system. The difference is immediately noticeable – and not only in the field. “We place the slurry directly on the ground, where it delivers the greatest benefit – not into the air. Our neighbours appreciate that the most – odour is hardly an issue anymore,” says Denis with a smile.
The farm is enrolled in a low-emission application scheme, making this method of slurry application not only practical but also a natural fit. Even on steeper parcels, the tanker and its system perform beyond expectations.
