This year’s Slurry Day in Triesdorf, Germany, took place on 25 May at the local agricultural centre “Landwirtschaftliche Lehranstalten Triesdorf”. Young generation farmers Rok Lančič and Simon Černel from the municipality of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici (Slovenia) are pig farmers and arable farmers, and they are an example of good agricultural integration practice, as they have been working together for many years to buy modern farm machinery – and successfully.
From the very beginning in 2007, the owner of the company of the same name, Alan Hartman, knew he wanted to operate independently. He specialised in the construction industry, where he has successfully navigated through all challenges and trials for 15 years. High up in the north of Germany, in the small, idyllic village of Eitzendorf, you will find the Biolandhof Cordes. Known under the farm name Smüllershof, the farm has existed since at least 1645 and is now managed by the family Cordes in a more biological way.

The Žgajnar eco farm in Studenec near Postojna is one of the largest dairy farms in Slovenia. It produces approximately 1.5 million litres of quality milk annually and offers a wide range of dairy products while cultivating 400 hectares of agricultural land.
The Meolic family farm from Bakovci near Murska Sobota (Slovenia) focuses on pig farming and crop production. It is one of the largest farms in the region, as the Meolic family has between 1100 and 1200 pigs in their stable. They also cultivate 220 hectares of arable land.
